How many hours of a day do you spend at office or with colleagues?
We’re sure it’s more than the number of hours you spend at home. So, it’s not surprising that there’s an increase in the number of couples emerging from the same workplace. While there’s nothing wrong in dating a colleague, here are some things to keep in mind for this Valentine’s Day if your loved one works with you.
Keep the mush for later in the evening on that special day for love. In office, act like normal colleagues, even if people around you know you are dating each other. For all you know, the single person near your desk might just feel a tinge of sadness if you indulge in any sort of PDA at work.
Instead of a flashy gift that everyone at work will know, opt for a silent, quieter way. Surprising him/her by ordering rose or flowers might be a good idea. However, if you feel that your other colleagues might get wind of it and pull your leg, opt for an online strategy. Work on an elaborate email with all your memorable moments and send it to her while she’s at work. We’re sure she’ll chuckle seeing it — and seeing that, in the middle of a frenzied work atmosphere, is worth a million bucks.
Sometimes, it is quite OK to mix work and pleasure. Especially if your loved one sits not far away from you at work. On Valentine’s Day, address her by her pet name in some of your not-too-important official mails — that’ll be cool. Of course, make sure you don’t get caught.
Just because it’s Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean your boss will be kind enough to not hold a meeting. But you could utilize that time as well! At times when the meeting gets boring (isn’t that the case most of the time?), you could send her texts across the table.
Mobile phones are in, of course, but use the landline to good use this Friday. Call her every hour on the landline (some offices still don’t have caller ID facilities) to wish her and make sure you surprise her.
